Candy Pink & Sunglasses

Lace shirt: Gift
Denim shirt: Topshop
Skirt: New Look
Belt: Primark
Socks: eBay
Creepers: Salt 'n' Pepper
Rings: Unbranded
Sunglasses: Unbranded

I finally have sunglasses! I've been needing to get myself a pair since the sun finally came out, and my mum kindly bought me this pair today. They have flowers on them! I find it very difficult to find glasses that suit me, but thankfully I think these ones are ok. I love this lace undertop - it was a gift from my godmother, and it creates a really flattering silhouette with a high-waisted skirt. In a stroke of genius inspiration, I decided to layer my denim shirt over it and tie it with a knot to make it a bit more fun.

I added my bright pink belt and complemented it with Estee Lauder lipstick in 'Rubelite' - one of the 9 shades in a sample palette that was gifted to me by my grandma. I've never tried this colour before, but I really like now (and it doesn't make my teeth look yellow - bonus!). I also wore my two new bunny rings - new purchases from the May MCM Expo - for a cute touch. I love the creepers-and-lacy-socks combo, and I couldn't resist it today.

That's all for now, I hope you enjoyed!

Spotlight On: Spooky Cute

Yes, it's May. I know what you're thinking. Spooky Cute? But Halloween is five months away!

Trust me, bats and ghosties aren't just just for October 31st!

Ghost best friends: NerdyLittleSecrets / Drippy heart bat: rarasjewels / Ribcage: rarasjewels /
Bat charm: SugarJunkieShop / Kawaii ghost: rainnua / Pastel bone: KreepyKawaii /
Eyeball hairclip: KreepyKawaii / Skull keychain: Clotique

Spooky Cute (or Creepy Cute, Creepy Kawaii and the like) is a small but growing fashion that spawned from pastel goth, deco lolita and other Japanese street fashions. It's a typical example of juxtaposition - clashing creepy, gothic and gory motifs with pastel colours, glitter and cute faces...and it's surprisingly versatile!

Spooky Cute can vary from sugary to elegant - just take a trawl of Etsy - so it can be incorporated into many different types of wardrobe. Even just one little item like a hairclip can put a quirky spin on an outfit and a smile on your face! No matter what the time of year, a Spooky Cute piece can satisfy a craving for sugar or a need for something just that little bit odd...

Although it can work all year round, it is perfect at Halloween. Why not don some cute ghoulies in the week running up to Halloween to get everyone feeling festive?

So what do you think of Spooky Cute? Which of my picks is your favourite? Leave me a comment and let me know!

May Wishlist 2013

(This post is not sponsored - I just love the site, so they're getting free promotion!)

Hello!

I have recently been browsing the CiChic website during my revision breaks and I have to say that I've rather fallen in love with some of the clothes. The prices are great and the quality looks good too, so if I ever manage to order anything from there I'll be intrigued to see what's it's like!

Floral Dress

I love this dress! I don't have enough blues and greens in my wardrobe, so this would be good to balance the colour ratio in my wardrobe for one. But the main reason why I love this dress is the style. I love the shape and the vintage-style print, and since I'm a sucker for florals and collars this dress is perfect!

Blue & White Dress

I love the nautical-yet-girly feel of this dress, and I think it would be a great staple in my wardrobe. The lace sleeves are a cute touch and since this dress is navy it would work year-round.

Striped Blouse

I am totally in love with this blouse! The colours are so nice and the little bow tie is such a cute addition. I don't normally like dark colours but this shirt is just so pretty!

White Floral Blouse

This blouse is really cute! I like how the flowers gradually disappear down the shirt, and I think it's a cool twist on the classic white blouse.

Heart Shorts

These shorts are so cute! They're sassy and fun and I love red and white together. They're a little short but that's nothing some undershorts or tights wouldn't fix.

Fruit Skirt

This skirt is so sweet! There is a dress version of this, but I prefer the skirt because it's floatier. It's simple, sweet and girly, and since I have a bit of a thing for fruit prints I would love to add this skirt to my wardrobe!

These items total...£113.40! I'd better get saving...

That's all for now, I hope you enjoyed! What's your favourite item on the list?

Casual Thursday

Hello everyone! I've just finished two weeks of exams and I have one week's 'break' (aka hardcore revision) before it all begins again, so I'm just rolling through with a quick OOTD.

Shirt: H&M (DIY Studded)
Jumper: New Look
Jeans: Warehouse
Socks: eBay
Creepers: Salt 'n' Pepper

I honestly don't like trousers, especially jeans. I find them really unflattering, hence why I live in skirts and shorts. However, after all my exams I really couldn't be bothered with anything else! I paired these lilac jeans with my trusty white shirt and pink jumper, and added my new lacy socks with my creepers for a preppy effect. Despite the jeans, I quite like this outfit~

That's all for now, sorry it's so short but I'm mid-exams at the moment. I hope you enjoyed!

Sunshine Kitty

Blouse: H&M (Studs DIY)
Skirt: Topshop
Cardigan: M&S
Tights: eBay
Shoes: Can't remember (about 5 years old)
Ring: Gift

(Ok, so I covered my face in most of these because I was facing right into the sun when I took them, so I was squinting and my face turned into a potato.)

The sun is finally out and it's nearly summer! Unfortunately, I have to get through a month of exams and revision before I can really enjoy it - but hey, so does every other 16 year old in the country. I went out with my friend this weekend and I thought it was a good opportunity to wear my new tattoo tights. I think I'm a little bit obsessed with them...
I got a lot of stares for these tights but it's better to be a little quirky than to wear the same as everyone else, no? I channeled my inspiration for this outfit from the beautiful Annika from pineneedlecollective and from my friend Kenny, who does videos here. I love both these girls' styles and I wanted to put my own spin on things. My style is quite simple - something I'm trying to improve on - but I'm pleased with this outfit. I'll definitely be sporting this again!

That's all for now, I hope you enjoyed!

DIY: Cute ring for under £1!

Everyone loves to save a bit of money here and there, right? One way of doing this is to make your own jewellery - this ring cost me a grand total of 65p! (That's $1.01 for all you Americans). The high street or even online equivalent could have cost me up to £4, but I've made one just as good for £3.35 less. Winning! This is such an easy thing to do, it takes less than 5 minutes. I used a wooden strawberry bead, but you can use anything you want.

Done! You now have your very own cute ring~

Creepers, Stars & Thai Pop

Top: Hand-me-down
Skirt: New Look
Tights: eBay
Creepers: Salt 'n' Pepper

I finally got tattoo tights! They've been high up on my wishlist for a very long time now, but a couple of weeks ago I went crazy and ordered four - yes four - pairs from eBay...at a grand total of around £6! I have so much love for eBay, honestly.

Another recent but long-awaited purchase was these dalmatian creepers. I've been secretly lusting after creepers for a little while now but always hesitated because of 'hipster' jeers. However, I've made a pledge to myself to be less self-conscious about these things so I took the plunge and I have no regrets. I wanted burgundy but the only ones the shop had in my size were the dalmatians (stupid size 8 feet, please shrink!) but now I'm glad that I got these because they're more versatile.

Away from fashion now, but anybody who knows me know how much I love my Asian music. I'm big on K-pop and into J-Pop, I'm partial to some Mandopop and I've even flirted with Vietpop. But a few days ago I stumbled upon a girl group named Candy Mafia. These super cute girls are Thai - although the song I discovered was in English - and being open to new things I decided to do some more research on them. My interest in them is growing and if you're a K-Pop fan (or just curious about the world of Asian music) then I recommend you check them out!

That's all for now, I hope you enjoy!
